The hospital beast is starting to get the best of me its all so stressful, raw, and vulnerable for everyone involved! I become so immersed in every person I encounter, then obsess about their iv, medication, or whether I charted something after I left work....its so all consuming, yet unequivocally fulfilling. What's a good-nurse wannabe to do?
I really really want to believe I'm actually helping people, but in such a broken healthcare system its like swimming against the current. Between conflicting doctor's orders, chest pain, and patient's smoking in the bathroom, its a wonder anyone comes out of there alive! Just needed to vent, thanks for listening to my ramblings!
I have days where I feel the same way, but I know that we really are helping them. I mean just think about what any hospital would be like without nurses....They need us.
